Initial and Final Concept Sketches
Initial concept consisted of a design based on nature and more specifically a leaf. The hollow sections at the base are meant for storage (boots, coat, notebook, etc).
Construction Planification
Each plywood pieces were cut at specific angles to match the right radius or curve. Afterwards, the pieces were matted together using bent steel brackets.
Chair Shell
Each piece meets the correct radius and shape of the chair. After the pieces were assembled, the chair was ready for upholstery.
Chair Legs
Each leg was built with two components (one top and one bottom) to ensure that joinery isn’t opposite to the exerted weight and force.
